The only player who has had more touches in the Premier League than Mesut Ozil in 2016 had been revealed

If we allow you to have a hundred guesses, we're definitely sure you still wouldn't identify the man who has touched the ball more times than anyone else this year

Mesut Ozil loves getting his foot on the ball.
Many Gunners fans bemoan the fact their German midfielder doesn't like chasing after the ball quite as much as he enjoys playing with it.
However, when it comes to actually touching/passing/caressing a football, Ozil is second to none.
That is why the news he has had more touches than NEARLY every other player in the Premier League this year should come as no great surprise.
Ozil has touched the ball exactly 2,797 times during Premier League games in 2016. On its own, that number may mean nothing, but the fact it puts him second on the 'touches' list for the year proves it is a decent tally.
So, who is the one man ahead of him on this list? Who sits top of the list, with a great 2,875 touches in 2016?
First, let's consider the rest of the top five...
Most Premier League touches in 2016
Everton's Idrissa Gueye (fifth) and Tottenham's Christian Eriksen (fourth) being in there makes some sense. But Bournemouth's Simon Francis sitting in third place is a bit more surprising.
Although it does (sort of) indicate what sort of player sits in first place.
If we told you the mystery man is a Chelsea regular, you might say…
Eden Hazard?
Maybe Nemanja Matic or N'Golo Kante, if you were feeling clever?
But you'd be dead wrong. The Chelsea star who has more touches in the Premier League than any other player in 2016 is…
Cesar Azpilicueta.
Or DAVE, as he's called by his friends.
Incredibly, the Blue's full-back/right-sided member of an innovative back three set-up has had his foot on the ball more often than anyone else in the top flight this year.
We did told you you wouldn't get it…
