A woman was disgusted to discover a cooked cockroach in her takeaway pizza.
The customer, who wishes to remain anonymous, bought the 16 inch meat feast from Kimo’s takeaway on Lodge Lane in Liverpool on Friday night.
As she was about to chew into her fourth slice, she was horrified to see a dead, inch long cockroach lurking under the pizza, the Liverpool Echo reported.
The takeaway has a one star food hygiene rating, meaning the Food Standards Agency deem there to be major improvement needed.
She said she contacted Kimo’s, who came to collect the pizza and offered to provide a fresh one, but the woman said she will never eat from there again.
She was told by the manager that pest control had been into the takeaway last Sunday.
She said: “It’s nice to have a treat on a Friday and you don’t inspect every single slice when you’re relaxing watching telly, I could so easily have eaten it.
“I literally threw the slice back down into the box in horror and it’s curbed my appetite ever since.
“The manager then had the nerve to come into my house and collect the pizza, he said you can have another one but it’s just replacing a problem with another problem.
“What was strange is they told me it would take 45 minutes for the pizza to come, yet there they were at the door in 15 minutes. It was shockingly quick.
“I told all my friends about it and they were all disgusted, they wouldn’t even look at the pictures.”
A spokesman for Kimo’s said: “We are sorry this happened to the customer. We called in pest control to deal with it as soon as possible.”
