Fresh from scoring the winning goal against West Brom on Boxing Day, Arsenal's Olivier Giroud is set for a new deal after talks with boss, Arsene Wenger.
The Frenchman has been a fixture in Wenger's plans ever since moving to the Emirates from Montpellier in 2012.
This season, both injury and the form of Alexis Sanchez has seen Giroud pushed to the sidelines, but he's still managed six goals in all competitions.
But despite netting 88 times in 203 Gunners appearances overall, he's never quite found general favour with the Arsenal fanbase.
There are often plenty of claims that he's not good enough to lead a successful Premier League title challenge, so naturally, the reaction to his potential contract extension will be mixed.
And it might look something like this:
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
There will be many Arsenal who just don't understand the news, as to them, Giroud has never been good enough and never will be.
Some of them have even got 5.3 million Twitter followers...
"YYYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSS"
But there are other Arsenal fans - albeit quieter ones - who've always rated the Frenchman, and will be delighted he's staying on.
These are the ones who tend to pop up on Twitter whenever he scores, by the way.
"Well, we can kiss that other striker we need now goodbye then"
Try as he might - and no matter how many goals he seems to score - Giroud just isn't that mythical "world class striker" that plenty of Arsenal fans seems to think they need.
Alexis Sanchez seems to be evolving into that man, but could they do with another one?
"If Giroud's happy to stay and warm the bench, then that's fine"
To these fans, the Frenchman is okay as long as he doesn't get any ideas above his station.
"You just get comfy down there, Olivier. You'll be called upon as and when you're needed."
"That'll mean that Sanchez and Ozil are off, then"
Wait, a contract extension for an Arsenal player that isn't Alexis Sanchez or Mesut Ozil? That's not going to go down well.
These fans will fear the worst, and probably suggest that the Gunners just take the money they are going to give Giroud and split it between their two main men.
"Has he got something on Wenger?"
This group is a bit like the first one, only they tend to look into things a little deeper, tying Giroud and Wenger together as a package.
Is one Frenchman's future linked to the other's? Is it?! IS IT?!?!
"Well at least we get to look at him for a bit longer, eh"
Ahh. Give him whatever he wants.
