Liverpool star, Roberto Firmino charged with drink driving after being pulled over on Christmas Eve

Merseyside Police have confirmed that they arrested the 25-year-old after pulling his car over in the early hours of the morning

Liverpool star, Roberto Firmino has been charged with drink driving.
The Brazilian forward, 25, was pulled over by police on Christmas Eve, report the Liverpool Echo.
Merseyside Police have confirmed that Firmino was arrested after his car was pulled over in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of December 24.
He is set to appear at Liverpool City Magistrates Court next month.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “Merseyside Police has charged a 25-year-old man with drink driving after his car was stopped in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of Saturday, December 24 2016.
“Roberto Firmino, from Liverpool, will appear at Liverpool City Magistrates Court on January 31.”
The court appearance is set to be the same day as Liverpool face Chelsea at Anfield.
The Brazilian signed for Liverpool from German club, Hoffenheim in July 2015 for £29m.
Since then, he has scored 17 goals in 67 appearances and is a vital part of the Reds outstanding performances and Premier League title push this season under Jurgen Klopp.
Firmino has 13 caps for Brazil and has scored five goals for his country.
A spokesperson for LFC said the club would not be commenting on the issue until the legal process had run its course.
