Chelsea's recent form hasn't just been impressive. It could make 2016/17 a record-breakingly magnificent season for The Blues.
With Antonio Conte's men top of the Premier League table and on a run of nine consecutive wins, they have racked up a massive 37 points from 15 matches so far. That equals to 2.47 points per game.
You can only truly be impressed by that haul when you find out what that equals to over a whole season. Remarkably, if Chelsea can maintain the rate of 2.47 points per game over the course of their 38 matches, they will end the season with 94 points.
Aside from virtually guaranteeing they would finish as champions, 94 points would put them second on the list of best ever Premier League points totals.
Here's the current top five:
5. Arsenal 2003/04, 90 points (2.37 points per game)
4. Man United 2008/09, 90 points (2.37 points per game)
3. Man United 1999/00, 91 points (2.39 points per game)
2. Chelsea 2005/06, 91 points (2.39 points per game)
1. Chelsea 2004/05, 95 points (2.50 points per game)
So, if Conte's side end up with 94 points, there will be only one manager who has led a Premier League side to a bigger points total.
It would be him, wouldn't it?
