Arsenal owner, Stan Kroenke has invested heavily in a new vineyard called Bonneau du Martray.
The French family, who own the site, which produced the prestigious 'Grand Cru' Corton-Charlemagne and Corton wines, revealed they have sold a majority stake to the American billionaire.
Terms have not been divulged, though vineyards in Burgundy cost more than €4million per hectare on average.
Kroenke's portfolio includes sports franchises Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche and Los Angeles Rams, though the 69-year-old has recently concentrated more on wine investment.
He adds Bonneau du Martray to his Californian vineyards Jonata and The Hilt, which is bound to annoy Arsenal fans due to his efforts evidently not fully concentrated on helping the club to win trophies.
Jean-Charles Le Bault de la Moriniere's family have occupied the site for 200 years, but he claimed the sale would help increase their overseas presence.
"We are very happy to have struck this partnership with Stan Kroenke and his team, which will allow us to strengthen our international presence even more," a statement read.
