No. Nope. Absolutely not. Simply not acceptable.
Whoever thought a half-half scarf for Manchester United vs Liverpool was a good idea needs to have a serious, hard look at themselves.
For those of you who are unaware of the concept, the half-half scarf is one of those things that makes the world despair for the state of the modern game.
It is, quite simply, a scarf that is split between two teams playing in any one match. In other words, it is designed for those people who want to show their support for both sides at a game.
In fairness, there may be certain instances where this is just about OK. Certain friendlies, European games or international matches are the sort of fixtures where you might want a souvenir - something like a half-half scarf.
But a half-half scarf at MANCHESTER UNITED VS LIVERPOOL? At a match which is all about the historic, deep-rooted enmity between the two sides? At a game where the interest is based on the long-standing animosity between the two sets of supporters?
That is not - and will never be - OK.
For future reference, the only scarves that should be getting produced for Man United vs Liverpool matches are ones that take the mick out of the opposition, in a funny, light-hearted fashion.
