Serge Gnabry has hinted he would consider returning to the Premier League— but not yet.
The Germany international spent five years at Arsenal before joining Werder Bremen for just £5million this summer, and the move has reinvigorated a career that stalled following a year-long injury.
Bayern Munich expressed an interest in the summer but Gnabry wanted to move to a club where he was guaranteed playing time.
The Bundesliga giants remain interested, though, while Arsenal — reluctant to let him go in the first place — could attempt to resign him.
When asked about a possible return to England, Gnabry refused to rule it out, but insisted he was not thinking about a move in the near future.
“For my future, I've decided to focus on how I play now and today," he said. "That's why I'm trying to concentrate on the now.
“As of today, I do not intend to change in the summer. But what happens in the future depends on my performance.
“What if Chelsea or Arsenal come knocking? Well, at the moment I'm trying to give everything to Werder.”
The 21-year-old also responded to rumours there is an €8million (£7million) release clause in his contract.
"That [story] did not come from my mouth," Gnabry told Bild. "That is why I have little to say... or nothing at all!"
