Who exactly is MATHIS BOLLY, the quickest player in FIFA 17?

He's the quickest player in FIFA 17 - so who is Mathis Bolly exactly? German football expert Archie Rhind-Tutt reveals all
Mathis Bolly
The title of FIFA 17's quickest player is one many players covet.
World famous superstars take their ratings in football's most popular video game remarkably seriously. One look at Harry Kane's brilliantly underwhelmed reaction to seeing his FIFA 17 stats reveals exactly what we mean.
So, the fact only two players have a 96 pace rating in FIFA 17is big news. This means EA Sports have essentially made two footballers the fastest players on Earth.
One is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the Borussia Dortmund star - which will surprise no-one.
The other is Mathis Bolly - which will surprise, well… everyone who has never heard of Mathis Bolly, the Norwegian-Ivorian who plays for Greuther Fürth in Germany's second tier.

So what sort of player is Bolly (other than a quick one)?
We asked German football expert Archie Rhind-Tutt to give us the laydown…

Scoring away at Bayern Munich on your full debut is a pretty rare occurrence but that’s exactly what Mathis Bolly did for Fortuna Düsseldorf in March 2013.
Looking back now, that moment stands out as one of a few highlights of his time in Germany to date, as the Ivory Coast international has failed to kick on.
Fortuna’s relegation to the second division just two months after his first Bundesliga goal meant chances to shine away at the likes of Bayern and Borussia Dortmund were always going to be limited.

That said, centre back Jonathan Tah, now a German international, managed to use Fortuna as a stepping stone, with his season long loan in the 2014-15 season.
Yet what has significantly hampered Bolly's progress is injury.
Last year, he said: "I believe that I am just a bit susceptible to small muscle injuries."

That is a bit of an understatement. In his three-and-a-half years at Fortuna, Bolly has only made 54 appearances for the first team. Only twice has he played a full ninety minutes, the last of which came in the second division back in 2013.
Injury has blighted his international career too. He was part of the Ivory Coast's 2014 World Cup squad, where he played just 17 minutes against Colombia. That was the last time the Oslo-born winger appeared for his country, having not been called up now for two years.
Fans then have only been able to get glimpses of Bolly. When he has been on the pitch, his opponents don't get to see all that much of him either, such is the staggering speed he possesses.

There was much hype when he first moved to Düsseldorf in January 2013. It saw former coach Norbert Meier even compare him to a race horse.
Bolly claimed he could run 40 metres in 4.53 seconds. That's twelve hundredths of a second quicker than Usain Bolt was over 40 metres when he broke the world record for the 100 metres in 9.58 back in 2009.
To be fair, Bolly's dad was a sprinter but as the Olympics in Rio showed last month, few get near to Bolt.
No wonder then when Bolly left Düsseldorf for fellow second division side Greuther Fürth over the summer, his new coach Frank Kramer spoke of how they'd signed one of the quickest players in the league.
You might not be surprised to learn though that he picked up a knee ligament injury in pre-season meaning Bolly is yet to play for his new club as injury continues to hinder his career.
