Carlo Ancelotti has declared Cristiano Ronaldo as the most professional player he has ever worked with.
The Italian spent two years working with the Portuguese superstar at Real Madrid, winning the 2014 Champions League.
Ronaldo, 32 next month, claimed his fourth Ballon d'Or crown in December and won FIFA's inaugural The Best award earlier this month.
And Bayern Munich chief, Ancelotti, is not surprised by the continued success of the Portuguese, whose work ethic left him stunned during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.
"His belly is never full," said Ancelotti, in an interview with ESPN FC.
"People had told me he was like this before I went to Real Madrid, but until you actually work with him every day, you don't realise to what degree he takes it.
"He is hugely professional and he works as hard as anybody out there. From recovery to diet, he takes care of every detail, ensuring everything is optimal.
"When I compare it to my playing days, there is no comparison - players today are far more professional - but he takes it to another level."
Ronaldo has been crucial to Real Madrid's Champions League and World Club Cup successes in the last 12 months, as well as their 41-game unbeaten streak - ended by Sevilla last weekend.
During that run, he made 28 appearances, netting 27 times, having struck 51 goals in 48 games during the 2015-16 campaign.
He also won international honours with Portugal, as Fernando Santos' side won the European Championships in France.
