In the heat of a Madrid derby, things get said.
In the case of Koke and Cristiano Ronaldo, what got said wasn't particularly friendly.
Frustrated at being thrashed by Real Madrid at home, Koke called Ronaldo a "fagg*t" as the two butted heads - according to radio station, Cadena Ser.
But Ronaldo, who also ended the game with a match-winning hat-trick, had the last laugh and gave the most Cristiano Ronaldo rebuttal possible.
"I might be a fagg*t..." he conceded, "but a very rich one. A**hole."
It wasn't a good look for the Atletico Madrid man, who tried to play down in the run-up to this game some comments by his captain, Gabi, regarding Atleti's worrying openness when Koke starts in central midfield.
Much of the success enjoyed by Diego Simeone's side over the past few seasons has been with a solid core, led by Gabi, in the centre of the park and then the likes of Koke and Saúl Ñiguez providing creativity from the flanks of a narrow midfield four.
Handed the chance to show what he can do in a big game playing alongside Gabi through the middle, Koke had a poor game as Atletico crumbled against their cross-town rivals.
Ronaldo, the star of the evening, got the better of him in every way.
