The Liverpool legend has take a bow, and as football figures around the world queue up to say nice things about him, we've found five players who won't be joining in
Steven Gerrard's retirement has understandably led to tributes
pouring for the Liverpool legend.
The former Reds and England captain was a headline-grabbing football figure for most of the last two decades, and after his brief spell in Los Angeles came to an end, he's decided to take a bow.
And not surprisingly, his announcement has led to football figures from around the world wishing him well.
Former teammates and rivals have been queuing up to praise undoubtedly one of the best midfielders of his generation.

But what about those who WON'T be wishing him well?
We've found five figures from Gerrard's past who might be glad to see the back of him.
1. El-Hadji Diouf
Undoubtedly one of Liverpool's worst signings of the century - and there's a lot of competition there - Diouf seems to have spent almost every waking moment since he left Anfield criticising his former captain. Except for that year at Doncaster, obviously. There were jibes about his mentality, his ability and his ego, amongst others, but Gerrard claims that he doesn't really want to waste his time thinking about his former team-mate.
Which is understandable.
2. Gary Naysmith
It was a Merseyside derby just before Christmas 2002, but Gerrard wasn't feeling charitable when he launched into this quite incredible lunge on the Everton full-back Gary Naysmith.Amazingly, he wasn't even booked.
Oh, and Naysmith? He survived, and these days is the manager of East Fife in Scottish League Two.
So now you know.
3. David Moyes
The Scot's Premier League record versus Gerrard's Liverpool:Played 24, Lost 14, Drawn 7, Won 3.
4. Raheem Sterling
Maybe the current Manchester City man will eventually offer his best wishes to his former captain, but given Gerrard's comments when he left Liverpool then he might think again. When Sterling pulled out of Liverpool's pre-season to force through his City move in the summer of 2015, Gerrard - who had just left the club - said: “I’m not happy with all that carry-on and I don’t think there’s any need for it."
“It’s very difficult for me to sit here and support him and the team around him - what they’re trying to do with his career at a young age."
5. Gennaro Gattuso
The man whose pull on Gerrard, gave Liverpool the penalty they equalised from on *that* night in Istanbul, used to pride himself on being a hard man, but Gerrard didn't see it that way.Speaking after that 2005 final, Gerrard claimed that it was Gattuso's "smirk"as Milan were 3-0 up which helped inspire Liverpool's comeback.
He added: "He's all mouth. He looks aggressive, but he is as scary as a kitten."
