If the Manchester United outcast can go from Old Trafford exile to back in the first team squad, nothing is impossible

It appeared like it was not possible. It was done. Finished. Over. There was no scenario in which it could possibly happen.
And yet, somehow, incredibly… Bastian Schweinsteiger has played a match for Manchester United again.
This is not a drill. We are not making this up. The German World Cup winner came on for the final minutes of the EFL Cup match against West Ham.

Just a few weeks ago, with Basti an outcast and Mourinho pretending he doesn't exist, there was not a football fan, pundit or bookie in the land who thought the midfielder would play for The Red Devils again.
And yet, here we are… with the ex-Bayern Munich man back on the United bench. It's a remarkable turnaround.
In fact, it's SO remarkable, we would have been less surprised by any of the following Man United stories:
1. Juan Mata angrily telling a fan to get lost

2. Zlatan publicly admitting that his performance wasn't good enough

3. Barcelona declaring their interest in signing Marouane Fellaini

6. Jose Mourinho admitting he has nothing but respect for Arsene Wenger
